ever so boho!) and predicting what to expect this upcoming season...
70's
This year think seventies re-invention. A strong essence of bohemian style, prints and jumpsuits. There's a heavy dose of earth-like tones being injected into the seventies revamp, keeping the look both contemporary and fresh. Wide leg trousers, midi-skirts and a selection of kimono's for you to choose this spring/ summer.(top left)
Safari Girl
Go a bit wild this summer with the very adventurous soul of safari, that mixes well with the 70's trend. Think bulky khaki jackets, denim shirts and maybe a hat thrown in on the side. Soften the look with textures such a lustrous chiffon in pastel whites, creams and the everlasting colour camel.
Eclectic Drama
Eclectic drama should have the concentration centred on make-up. It's all about using unusual clashes, colours and wearing your hair loose and flowing. Try something different like a small array of hair in a plait at the side, unique brooches and jewellery with a difference. It's about accessorising classic pieces and making them look edgier and way out.(right)
Bold and Bright
You could call it colour blocking, but colour blocking can't get any more blinding than this. Keeping it minimalist orientated, it shouldn't have a trace of prints anywhere, while the colour stays sharp. Be sure to accessorise carefully, going for more neutral colours for belts and jewellery. Tuxe Luxe
Almost the opposite of bold colours, this trend is all about sharp, clean cut edges. Monochrome colours or timeless black and white, imagine yourself being whisked to a dinner evening nestled in the chambers of a manor house. You don't have to be rich, you just have to look smart. (below)
This year their was a rugged influence on the 1970's era. Gucci revived the kick flares and denim for their resort collection, while DKNY had a accessories based palette. Everywhere we look this season, there is an unique take on this hippy dippy time.
